What’s this all about?
Permanent jewelry, forever jewelry, or infinity jewelry are all the same! It’s a fun trend that involves welding a delicate custom-fit chain around your wrist using a jump ring and a micro welder, leaving you with a gorgeous, claspless, everyday bracelet. Think of it like a modern friendship bracelet or even a tattoo alternative to celebrate, remember, or just have fun! All chains are waterproof, nickel-free, and made to last.
Is there any maintenance required with my permanent jewelry piece?
It can last for many years when you take care of it well, but because this piece is on 24/7 with all of your skins oils, perfumes, lotions, sweat from the gym, etc. We do suggest using a non-toxic jewelry cleaner at least once a month. When you wash it make sure it is dried and rinsed fully. The ratio depends on your lifestyle. We have partnered with an amazing company called Shinery (Oprah’s Favorite) and carry this jewelry cleaner in the store which works really well on permanent jewelry, but also all of your other jewelry as well!
How long does it last?
Your permanent jewelry can last weeks, months, years - as long as you want! Keep in mind, while bonded Permanent Jewelry is meant for everyday wear, it is still fine jewelry and not invincible. You’ll need to take extra precautions so it won’t snag or become caught on clothing. Our policy is within the firs 60 days bring it back to us and we will repair & reweld for free. After the initial 60 days, due to wear and tear, if the chain breaks we cannot guarantee a replacement due to lifestyle conditions being out of our control. Is it real gold?
At OMG we offer a variety of chain options to fit everyones needs & price points. We carry sterling silver, 14k gold, and gold filled. Gold filled is not gold plated. Gold plated will tarnish and is not waterproof. Gold filled jewelry is still considered real gold, because the gold which surrounds the base metal is a gold alloy. However, it is not made entirely of 100% real gold, because it contains a base metal.
Can you fly with permanent jewelry?
Yes! It is TSA safe and you will not need to worry about it at all. The founder of the company travels every other month and has never had an issue in the last year. TSA does not ask you to remove fine jewelry, so you'll be able to take your permanent jewelry with you on all your adventures!
How long does the process take?
The actual welding takes second, but plan for your appointment to be about 15-20 minutes to allow for proper sizing, the right fit, and a secure weld.
Does it hurt?
Nope! A high quality micro welder will be used to join your chain together by welding a small jump ring closed. There is a protective leather piece we put on your skin to stay protected. You’ll be left with a simply beautiful claspless bracelet. The weld is quick but very bright, so you will be given the option of wearing darkened safety glasses or simply looking away. The process is quick, pain-free, and tons of fun!
What if I want to take it off?
Cherish your custom chain for years to come, but keep in mind you can remove it at any time by cutting the jump ring off using a pair of kitchen scissors. Make sure you save your chain so that you can have it rewelded later!
What is a re-weld?
Did you know that a permanent bracelet can be removed at any time by using a pair of kitchen scissors to cut the jump ring? Save your chain in a sealed plastic bag so that you can have it re-welded at a later time.
Your permanent chain does NOT need to be from OMG to have it re-welded. We’re happy to help! Prices vary by jump ring material. A new jump ring will be used for every re-weld.
Do you do private events?
YES! Big or small events we want in. We are booking for the South Puget Sound area in PNW and Greater St. George Area in So. Utah. There is a non-refundable booking fee of $75 that will be credited towards your jewelry total. a minimum of 4 guests are required to attend. When there are 5 sales made at your party the host receives a free bracelet or anklet with the Gold Filled or Silver chain of choice.
At this time, we do not allow pre-purchase of chains as we have a rotating selection each month. We want you all the have a custom bracelet that isn’t like every one else’s walking around town.
